Hardware, Software Image Configuration and
Deployment Services
Phoenix offers a bespoke customer specific hardware and software configuration service. This free of charge service ensures you receive the preferred hardware configuration for your equipment along with your organisations current software image.
The Process
Our technical department will supply a system with your preferred hardware configuration for you to test. From this a working network image is created. If you require help in creating your new image then our highly trained technical staff, who are certified and authorised by the major hardware and software suppliers will assist with this process at your location until you are happy with the configuration. Our engineer will then return to the Phoenix technical centre and create a test system and then return the next day to your location for you to test the system in your environment and confirm your approval before we build your new systems. Once you have approved the build the engineer returns to our configuration centre where your image is given a specific naming convention and loaded onto our configuration servers. As your images change so does the naming convention and as such we have a historical record of your images, which is a major benefit with regard to possible future maintenance issues. Our build and configuration centre can process 500 systems per day. On completion of the builds a customer specific label is produced, usually incorporating the Mac address, Asset number, Location, User Name and Date. The systems can then be despatched to site as a whole order or stored and called off to meet your project timescales.
The above process takes two days but ensures the following benefits –
- Network ready fully configured and tested systems.
- ZERO Dead on Arrival systems.
- Managed Implementation.
- Serial Number and Asset tracking.
- Historical Images stored.
- Field service customer specific recovery kits.
- Storage.
- Desktop delivery and removal of packaging.
- Management information.
The end result is a plug and play solution custom tailored to meet the needs of each customer.
This Service Applies to the following equipment –
- PCs
- Laptops
- Severs (Novell, Microsoft, Unix)

Asset Management and Security Solutions
Phoenix provide a comprehensive Asset management service which is designed to help customers track the life cycle of the product within their organisation.
How does it work?
Your dedicated Phoenix Account Manager would visit your organisation to agree the preferred procedures related to the tagging of hardware products and the electronic documentation required to enable effective control of your assets. This service is designed to integrate with your existing methods of control.
After the initial meeting the agreed procedures would be implemented and all hardware products purchased through Phoenix would be Asset tagged with your customer specific label and a unique Asset Number.
This information would then be entered in to the Asset Database together with your preferred information e.g. Location, Serial Number, Specification, your order Number, Date etc. This document would be forwarded to you on agreed dates so you could update your records.
Many of the customers using the service have not only found it of benefit in assisting them with audit requirements but also depreciation managment and budget forecasting.
Phoenix also offer this service on your existing hardware platform. A project team is deployed to your location for an agreed period to bring your Asset base information and tagging up to date. This service has been utalised by organisations who have been stretch by there day to day department demands and there asset management has become out of date.
This service has proved very popular as an effective means of helping to control the implementation of new Assets to your hardware platform.
Asset tags can be applied to your specification prior to shipping. We can also supply lists that identify which serial numbers have been assigned to your asset numbers, ready for you to plug into your asset management system.
Many of our customers also take advantage of our Security Marking service by supplying us with their preferred security tags. These services are particularly useful in large rollouts, greatly simplifying the process of your installation team. |
